  • Dr. Neil Joshi

    Dr Alexander Green was born in Berlin and educated at Trinity School. He graduated from the University of Munich in 1985. Shortly after graduation he was one of 3 new graduates to be accepted into a pilot intern.

    Alexander Green was able to gain invaluable experience in treating thousands of patients who had been neglected by the health system. This included general dentistry, emergency care, trauma, oral surgery and orthodontics.

    Dr Neil Joshi is an experienced, Australian born and trained Urological Surgeon based in Coffs Harbour.

    Born in Gosford on the Central Coast of NSW, he completed his MBBS with Honours at the University of Sydney. He has completed general surgical and advanced general surgical training at Westmead, Nepean and Blacktown hospitals, and at The Alfred in Melbourne. He has also trained as a Urological Surgeon in tertiary hospitals Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney and St Vincent’s and The Austin General Hospital in Melbourne, with further fellowship experience overseas in robotic surgery and uro-oncology at the Netherlands Cancer Institute in Amsterdam in 2008. He has also completed specific urological fellowships in renal tract stone and laser stone surgery both overseas and at Royal North Shore hospital, after completing general urological surgery training. He has also completed post-fellowship training in urologic prosthetic surgery in various centres the United States. All these centres have world-renowned experts in their various urological subspecialties. He has also presented multiple peer-reviewed research papers and published articles in major worldwide urological journals throughout his career.

    He is an official clinical lecturer for the University of New South Wales Rural Medical School and is actively involved in teaching of new medical students and junior medical officers. He also attends annually the largest peer-reviewed conferences in Urology in the world, in both Europe and the United States, keeping up to date with the latest technology and evidence base in Urological care.

    He obtained his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2008, and is a full member of the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand and Australian Medical Association, and is also a full international member of the European Association of Urology. He has trained in all areas of Urological practice, including stone, robotic, laparoscopic and cancer surgery, as well as surgery for infertility and prosthetic surgery. The practice also has specialized equipment for performing Video Urodynamics and flow testing to cater for female and male patients with incontinence, as well as spinal cord injured patients with voiding dysfunction, as well as specialized treatments such as Botox injection into the bladder and Sacral Neuromodulation for managing complex voiding dysfunction and urinary incontinence, and is the only practitioner in the wider Coffs Harbour area offering these treatments.

    Dr Joshi has full appointments at both Baringa Private Hospital and Coffs Harbour Health campus. He treats both public and private patients and provides emergency treatment for urgent urological conditions in Coffs Harbour. As the only urologist routinely treating patients from the Coffs Harbour, Grafton, Macksville, Nambucca and Bellingen/Dorrigo areas, he has developed a vast experience and case-load in a large range of urological conditions, allowing patients to have full confidence in their local clinical care, for the long term, which is crucial in most urological conditions.

  • Dr. Devina Joshi

    Dr Ann Taylor joined the team at The Dental Clinic in early 2006. Being a member of a large private practice that specialises in implant and cosmetic dentistry has been a great way for Dr Ann Taylor to increase her knowledge and experience in all areas of dentistry.

    Being a general dentist, Dr Ann Taylor has found it easy to diagnose orthodontic problems in children early, as they come in for their regular preventative checks.

    Dr Devina Joshi graduated from Medicine with First Class Honours in 2002 from the University of NSW. She completed part of her physician training at Westmead Hospital, Sydney, and then completed her Advanced Endocrinology training at St Vincent’s Hospital and Nepean hospital in Sydney as well as completing a research year in Amsterdam, Netherlands. She was admitted to the Royal Australian College of Physicians as an Endocrinologist in 2010.

    Dr Joshi helped form a transition clinic for adolescents and young adults with Type 1 diabetes clinic in Coffs Harbour in close association with the diabetes educators and dietitians who work at Coffs Harbour base hospital. This clinic sees a large number of patients on insulin pump therapy including women with Type 1 diabetes in pregnancy. There is a close collaboration between the allied health professionals and Dr Joshi in managing the increasing burden of the women diagnosed with gestational diabetes (diabetes in pregnancy).

    Dr Joshi is a senior conjoint lecturer with the University of NSW Clinical School. She actively participates in teaching and education of medical students, General Practitioners, as well as doctors and nurses at the hospital. She attends national and international conferences regularly. She has published as a first author in a number of peer reviewed international journals including the BMJ and Clinical Endocrinology.
    Dr Joshi has Vising Medical Officer Appointments at both Coffs Harbour Base Hospital and Baringa Private Hospital.
